MPA Athletes Claim World Championship Gold in Argentina 🇦🇷
The 2026 ICF Masters Canoe Marathon World Championships brought together top paddlers from around the world in the scenic city of Gualeguaychú, Argentina. Representing Marathon Paddling Academy (MPA) and Australia, three of our athletes — Brett Greenwood, Daniela Torre, and Dmytro Medvedyev — delivered some outstanding performances across the singles and doubles events.
🏆 Brett Greenwood delivered an outstanding performance, claiming three gold medals at the Championships! He won gold in his singles event, the men's doubles alongside Brett Macdonald from Western Australia, and the mixed doubles with Daniela Torre.
🥇 Daniela Torre joined Brett on the top step of the podium in the mixed doubles. She also finished fourth in her singles race after an unexpected swim forced her to restart from behind the pack. Despite the setback, Daniela fought back strongly to secure an impressive result.
💪 Dmytro Medvedyev finished fourth in the highly competitive 50–54 age category in the K1 race. He also teamed up with James Pralija to finish ninth in the K2 35–39 age category.
Congratulations to all our athletes on their fantastic efforts and for proudly representing MPA and Australia on the world stage! 🇦🇺🚣
